Managing and Mitigating Risk

FEI maintains an annual SOC 2 Type 2 independent audit report, demonstrating our ability to meet key regulations and industry-defined requirements while appropriately managing risk. FEI’s SOC 2 Type 2 report comprises all five (5) Trust Service Criteria (Security, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity, Availability and Privacy) as defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  Additionally, FEI’s internal security controls were designed and implemented to align to industry leading security frameworks such as:

  • HIPAA Security Rule
  • NIST Special Publication 800-53
  • ISO 27001/2

Supporting Partners with Regular Staff Training, QA

FEI employees and consultants/contractors working on our projects receive yearly HIPAA training. Further, as part of FEI’s formal audit program, FEI contracts an independent assessment firm to produce our annual SOC 2 Type 2 report for our clients.   The combination of FEI’s formal audit program and satisfying our customers external audit requirements provides assurance that FEI is continually being assessed and diligently being active in safeguarding our products and customer data.

Additionally, we have the following assessments conducted on an annual basis:

  • SSAE 16 SOC 2 Type II: FEI hosts the solution in AWS, which conducts SSAE 16 SOC 2 Type II annual audits and is ISO 27000 and FEDRAMP certified.
  • Penetration Testing: On no less than an annual basis, we engage an independent third party to perform both internal and external network penetration tests, activities that include physical and logical social engineering.
  • Organizational IT Certifications: FEI has also earned CMMI ML3, ISO 20000 and ISO 9001:2015 (PMO only) certifications, which require annual third-party assessments and attest to the maturity of our information security program, systems development, and overall IT operations.

Once again this summer, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend (Fri, May 30 to Fri, Aug. 29) you may shift up to four work hours into the early part of the week to get a jump start on the weekends and close your virtual office up to four hours early on Fridays. We encourage you to coordinate with your manager and your teams to take advantage of the summer schedule. We know you’re all responsible professionals, always focused on the needs of our clients and the business. We trust you’ll consider the potential for urgent matters that may arise and ensure we remain available and responsive to clients, be flexible in managing appropriate rotations when coverage is necessary and properly notify your clients and team members when you will be away. So don’t be afraid to take us up on this offer and head out early when you can.

Just a couple of things to remember as you record your time:

  • If your vacation or other time off plans include a Friday, the Flexible Friday benefit will not apply during that stretch of time (you will need to enter a full day of ProLeave for each day you are out, including the Friday). In other words, you must enter working time in the days immediately prior to the Friday to use the flex benefit.
  • When entering time, your pay period total hours will not necessarily align with the pay period required minimum hours (it could be fewer or more depending on the calendar days in the period). Don’t worry about that. Just make certain you are working and recording at least 40 hours per week.
