Earlier this year, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) authorized the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program, giving $50 billion in grants to support rural health innovations, improve efficiency, promote sustainability and strengthen workforce development. At FEI, we’re here to support client success in obtaining/maintaining grants and assisting in managing post-award needs as the application deadline of Nov. 5 approaches and the award date in December comes upon us.
Despite the current federal government shutdown, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) remains active, and our client partners tell us they’re responding to this rigorous, fast-moving application process focused heavily on ideas and process details. The process includes detailed expectations, structured requirements and strict obligations to show return on investment. Awarded states are cautioned in advance to put strong governance and oversight plans in place as failure to deliver could result in removal of funds. As a health IT leader, I’m committed to supporting the meaningful work of health and human services agencies, and I encourage you to look for a trusted partner to help ensure these investments in rural health translate into measurable outcomes. Of course, we welcome the opportunity to be considered as you make your way through this effort.
I couldn’t be more proud of the work we’ve done and continue to do at FEI specifically in this space. We’ve spent more than 25 years adapting our solutions specifically including this type of grant management and program case management required under the grant program. Our ability to aid government-funded programs and support agencies across the spectrum of health and human services is demonstrated in hundreds of contract years supporting these programs. Our platforms provide the data collection, governance and reporting tools agencies need to succeed under initiatives like the RHT Program. Our solutions can be deployed quickly to meet base compliance and reporting needs at the start of the grant — and then adapt over time as programs evolve and participation grows. With the health and safety of our communities at stake, success won’t come from good ideas alone. We know success depends, in part, on the ability to track obligations, manage sub-awards and demonstrate outcomes. For our client partners, the 10 months between notice of award and funding will be used to detail the programs to support the many great ideas we have heard being pitched. As you develop your program, FEI stands ready to support your technology framework and support your efforts to operate it in a compliant and sustainable manner. Please visit our website for more information on how our innovative health IT solutions can assist in collection, aggregation, reporting and analysis of key data essential to providing better outcomes for your participants.
Good luck to all the states participating in your final submission efforts! We’re here, and we’re ready to help.
